DIG6027 Digital Storytelling

Digital Storytelling explores the theories and techniques behind the industry leaders in interactive story design. You will learn how to pace interactive scenes, design choices that matter, create deeply immersive experiences, and structure plot for non-linear media as you design your own interactive story.

  • Implement key theories of interactive storytelling into a digital project
  • Recognize and interpret critical components of storytelling for interactive contexts (protagonist/antagonist, conflict, goal, plot arc, etc.)
  • Analyze the cultural impact of successful interactive stories
  • Understand and manage varying cultural expectations for interactive stories
  • Create experimental digital stories that harness the unique properties of different multimedia tools
