Portfolio Open House

Are you interested in applying to the BADAS program this year? Prospective students can learn more about the application process and have their portfolio reviewed by faculty, student ambassadors, and staff at the Digital Worlds Institute's annual Portfolio Open House event. Digital Worlds requires a portfolio representing foundational skills across three primary areas, digital design, time-based media, and interactive media and coding. 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

How Does the Event Work?

Portfolio Open House is an entirely virtual event. Between 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM, a "Home-Room" style zoom meeting will serve as a waiting room between review sessions with faculty. Participants can join and leave this meeting as they please. In Home-Room, staff and student ambassadors will present about admissions/portfolio requirements and answer questions. Simultaneously, the reviewers will have separately scheduled zoom meetings (signup below) with participants one-on-one. Throughout the event, participants will jump between Home-Room and portfolio review sessions. 

How to Sign Up?

  • Complete this REGISTRATION FORM 
  • Review the biographies of the reviewers below.
  • Sign up to meet up with TWO reviewers.
  • Time with the reviewers is limited to 10 minutes, so be prepared to present your portfolio and receive feedback within this time constraint.

How To Prepare?

  • Present 5 to 7 of your best portfolio pieces.
  • Have your pieces prepared for screen sharing.
  • Your portfolio doesn't have to be perfect; bring your best work and be prepared to talk about your thought process.
  • Be prepared and be mindful of how you present yourself and your work.
  • Come with an open mind.

Home-Room

Between 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Home-Room will serve as a waiting room between review sessions with faculty. Digital Worlds staff and student ambassadors will present about admissions/portfolio requirements and answer questions.
